Hot Billet Handling with Forging Manipulator
Hot billet handling is one of the most important parts of open die forging. The workpiece must be moved, rotated and positioned while it is still at forging temperature. A CNC forging manipulator helps make this process safer and more controlled.
The manipulator grips the billet with hydraulic clamping jaws and moves it into the correct position under the forging press or hammer. It can lift, feed, rotate and adjust the workpiece during each forging step.
The CNC forging manipulator is suitable for forging workshops producing shafts, rollers, discs, rings, bars and heavy steel forgings. It helps reduce manual handling and allows operators to control the workpiece from a safer distance.
Choosing the correct manipulator depends on billet weight, diameter, clamping range, press size and layout. Wiz Machinery can help select a suitable WM forging manipulator for hot billet handling applications.
